Dementia Care

Our objectives

  • To reduce the stress on carers by giving them respite
  • To provide therapy and stimulation for the people with dementia
  • To enable people with dementia to continue living in the community and retain their independence for as long as possible
  • To support carers and their families by offering tips and techniques on how to manage the condition

What do we provide?


Our centre is open from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm Monday to Friday

  • We can support 26 clients each day
  • Clients can be referred to us by Social Services, Care Homes, health professionals or directly by relatives or carers
  • Each client has an individual care plan which is reviewed regularly
  • We provide a hot two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day
  • The Day Centre is in a residential setting, purpose built to be secure while allowing the older people the freedom that they would expect in their own homes
  • There is an enclosed garden which is well used by our clients
  • Clients can be brought and collected from the Day Centre either by our mini bus, or by their family or carers
  • We maintain a ratio of 1 member of staff to 5 clients
  •  We are very proud of our 5 star food hygiene rating


We offer a range of group and individual activities including but not limited to:
  • Singing, music and entertainers
  • Reminiscence activities
  • Social games and bingo
  • Cooking
  • Gardening
  • Knitting, arts and crafts
  • Snooker, bowling, darts
  • Scalextric, table football
  • Quizzes

Our Staff

Our staff are qualified, or working towards, NVQ/QCF levels 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, incorporating specialist Dementia Training.   Staff also attend regular additional training sessions to support their continual professional development. The centre manager is qualified to level 5.
