CIO Reg. no. 1153607
The charity is governed by Trustees according to its Constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity Commission regulations. Trustees act jointly and share ultimate responsibility for the affairs of a charity.
Age Concern Bracknell Forest is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), charity
number 1153607. A CIO is not a company registered with Companies House but does hold property and enters into contracts including contracts of employment in its own right. The personal liability of Trustees is limited much the same as directors of limited companies.
( Prior to 2014, the Charity was constituted as an Unincorporated Association, reg number 265351, which is still listed on the Charity Commission website. )
We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in helping the older people of Bracknell by joining our team of trustees or attending committees to assist management of the charity.
The board of trustees meets about six times per year. They delegate management of day-to-day affairs and charity workers to the Chief Executive Officer, Tracey Hedgecox. The Day Centre Manager, Jane Parker reports to the CEO and manages a team of 11.
The detailed work of the trustee board may be delegated to monthly Committees with co-opted members including non-trustees. These provide essential skills to assist Tracey and event staff. Current committees are: Policy; Business and Finance; and Operations
