Our Day Centre opened in 1992 and has provided over three decades of unwavering commitment to our local community. It has evolved into an inclusive haven, a sanctuary of support, and a vibrant hub for all who seek its enriching embrace. With open doors and open hearts, we warmly welcome individuals from all walks of life, fostering an environment where the local community and beyond can gather, connect, and thrive.
Our Day Centre is open Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm.
We are fully dementia-friendly, our centre lends itself to the condition along with our dedicated care team who have substantial experience in supporting those diagnosed.

We pack a lot into a day! with multiple group activities like games, crafts, quizzes, bingo, fitness, and more. We have films and music all worked into our entertainment schedules to keep everyone entertained. We encourage participation but don't insist on it. Our care team actively encourages relationship building and conversation.

POLICE TRAINING
Thames Valley Police visit us to support their officers training. Our members love teaching them a thing or two!
THERAPY DOG!
A close friend /volunteer of Age Concern brings their trained therapy dog to visit regularly.
LEARNING HUB
Working with local educational providers we offer student placements to help train the next generation of carers.

BESPOKE CINEMA ROOM
Escape to our bespoke cinema room, where we showcase a wide range of films and television programs, from the classics to the latest releases. Our cinema is open every day, and our members get to pick what they want to watch, sit back, and enjoy!
HUGE SELECTION OF DAILY ACTIVITIES
A wide range of stimulating activities every day that cater to all interests and abilities. Our activities are designed to be enabling, rather than disabling, and we have dedicated spaces for art-based therapy, music, games, group quizzes, and more. Our daily schedules are bespoke and varied to ensure everyone can participate and enjoy themselves.
TWO COURSE MEAL EVERYDAY
We provide a balanced and nutritious hot meal each day, which is included in our fees. Our menu changes daily, with alternative options available for those who prefer different meals. Lunch is served around midday, followed by a delicious dessert. We cater to most dietary requirements and can provide menus upon request
PERSONALISED Support
We are passionate about support, our experienced care team is readily available to provide assistance across a spectrum of tasks. To learn more about the diverse range of support services we offer, kindly reach out to us. We take pride in conducting thorough assessments of individual needs, ensuring that our care aligns seamlessly with each person's unique requirements.
REFRESHMENTS
We provide refreshments all day long. We have the kettle on from the moment the doors open to the second they close, caffinated of de-caf we have you covered. There is also water and cordials all available throughout the day and upon request. We offer healthy snacks and some less than healthy snacks (which often are the bigger hit!)
MEDICATION
At Age Concern Bracknell Forest Day Centre, we can provide support for certain types of medication.
Please inform us in advance if you or your loved one require any medication during your / their time with us to ensure that we can provide the necessary assistance.

Once you have come to see us and you are happy to join our community you must complete the "Support Plan" and read in full our "Terms and Conditions". The support plan is an electronic form. We can post physical copies if preferred.

RESPITE FOR A PERSON WHO CARES FOR A RELATIVE IS VITAL
Short-term respite care can give carers the break they need to indulge in hobbies, interests or simply to re-charge the batteries.
IS THERE TRANSPORT?
Answer: We do not offer transport but there is a number of local charities who can support this, just ask!
IS THERE A FEE TO ATTEND THE DAY CENTRE?
Answer: Yes. Fees are currently set to £47 per day. This includes everything, there are no hidden fees. You can attend as many days per week as desired.
DO YOU SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA?
Answer: Yes. Our building is fitted with dementia in mind. Our staff have substantial experience supporting those diagnosed with dementia and most of our current members are diagnosed.
DO YOU HAVE TO DO ACTIVITIES?
Answer: No. We have multiple activities happening daily. We aim to have something that appeals to everyone. However, we appreciate some people just want to relax or continue a conversation with a friend, all of this is perfectly fine with us! There is never any pressure to participate.
WHAT SNACKS ARE ON OFFER?
Answer: Age Concern Bracknell are lucky to have support from ALDI, Greggs and Co-op who provide us with an array of fruit, biscuits, bakery items, sweets, cakes, breads, cereals and more. One promise we can make is that nobody ever leaves hungry at the day centre!
MY RELATIVE TAKES MEDICATION DURING THE DAY, IS THAT AN ISSUE?
Answer: Members of our care team are medication trained. We have locked storage to keep medication with restricted access. There are some forms of medication we are not allowed to hold on-site / or administer. Call and ask for more details.
